GMA Residency Programs

The Gwangju Museum of Art has been a pioneer among Korean public museums, through the establishment of art residencies, beginning in 1995. The museum established a residency in Beijing in 2009 and continues to support local artists by providing opportunities to develop their work and explore global art. From 2014, the museum expanded its support and intercultural exchanges through partnerships with international organizations, and the International Residency program began in 2017.
